Day 24 - Severe Weather in the Southeast
We have had a real soaker today with over 2 inches of rain having fallen as of 8:25 PM. There have been tornado warnings issued in Anderson County and there is a big swath of severe storms sweeping through the area. Greenville County is on a flood watch until Tuesday from the runoff from this rain. I had been monitoring the local Amateur Radio repeater traffic on 146.610 MHz. The local hams use this frequency to activate a network called Skywarn in the event of severe weather - warranting monitoring by local hams. So far, as of 8:30 PM the Skywarn network has not yet been activated.
