The tragedy in Haiti struck on 1/12/09 - Tuesday as a Richter 7 with its epicenter just 10 miles from Port-Au-Prince rocked the city and its surroundings causing widespread destruction.
Dr. Garlock and Mrs Bennett were in Haiti at the time and there was concern as both of them had not been heard from. However, late Friday, I heard on WORD 106.3 that they have been located as being safe as they were able to call via satellite phone. As of today, Sunday, Dr. Garlock is in Miami due to arrive in Greenville tonight. Needless to say, there has been relief and gladness to know that they are safe and sound.
The videos and photos showing the devastation, death, and suffering are all over the news and the internet and the damage is both widespread and beyond belief.
